Tuition Fees
In the Postgraduate Program (PMS), tuition fees are set at the amount of two thousand euros (€2,000) for each cycle of studies, payable in two (2) installments. The first installment of €1,000 is due at the beginning of the first semester, and the second installment of €1,000 is due at the beginning of the second semester. Payment of tuition fees is made to the Special Research Funds Account of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). Non-payment of financial obligations may lead to the non-conferment of the Degree or even expulsion from the PMS.
Exemption from Tuition Fee Obligation
The right to be granted a tuition fee waiver due to financial or social criteria is given to postgraduate students who meet the excellence criterion during the first cycle of studies, equivalent to a grade of at least 7.5 out of 10. Specific terms and conditions for the right to free tuition in the PMS are described in current legislation and in the decision of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs.
The possibility of exemption from the tuition fee obligation is exclusively provided for enrollment in one (1) PMS organized by domestic Higher Education Institutions (AEI). Exempted students must not exceed thirty percent (30%) of the total number of students admitted to the PMS. If eligible students exceed this percentage, they are selected in order of ranking, starting from those with the lowest income. The application for tuition fee exemption is submitted by the interested party to the Department upon completion of the student selection process for the PMS.
Scholarships
In special cases of excellence with a grade point average above 9.5 during the first semester of studies and exceptional scientific achievements, evidenced by the publication of at least 3 scientific papers in PUBMED indexed journals during the current academic year, up to 2 scholarships per year can be awarded to postgraduate students. Scholarships are granted based on the aforementioned academic, objective criteria and must be included in the approved budget of the PMS. Scholarship holders are obliged to maintain excellence, with a grade point average above 9.5 during the examinations of the second semester and in the completion of their Master’s thesis, the presentation of which must be successfully completed within the specified dates after the end of the summer period.
